English bulldogs originate from England. In the past they were being trained for battles with bulls. If you ever saw English bulldog it is probably hard to believe that. Construction of bulldog’s body does not seem athletic at all. To be honest bulldogs lost most of their athletic characteristics too.

What English bulldogs do today is very different from what they did in the past. Bulldog’s today’s favorite activity is sleeping. I am almost sure about that. You will practically have to beg bulldog to go for a long walk with you. This lazy dog needs nothing but your presence to be satisfied. English bulldog can sleep and do nothing entire day, but it hates to be alone. Whoever may come to your house, bulldog is always happy to see him, so do not expect bulldog to be a watchdog.

If you have small children this is a perfect dog for you. English bulldogs get along with children very well. They are putting up with squeezing and the rest of the things kids do with dogs very well. This is not a violent dog all, although many people think it is. Probably based on English bulldog’s look. They may seem dangerous, but they are not. Maybe they are too lazy to be that. If you put a little special attention to your English bulldog it will be your best friend for many years.

What is not so great about bulldogs is that they are subject to many diseases. But do not worry you can prevent many of them if you stick to some rules. English bulldog would eat anything it gets or sees. It is you, who has to make sure it does not get overweight. Keep in mind it is better for your dog if it does not get too much to eat.

Taking care of English bulldog should not be too pretentious. You only have to careful about its hygiene. Cleaning bulldog’s wrinkles need special attention. If it is not taken care properly it can cause many infections.
